I recently used my Amazon Prime borrowing credit to borrow 10,001 Ways to Live Large on a Small Budget for my Kindle. Having been living the frugal lifestyle for several years now, there was a lot I already knew and many steps I already implemented, but like one Amazon reviewer wrote, there is still something for everyone in this book.
In addition to hundreds of tips on saving money, spending less and going homemade, there was also a large section on investing. It breaks down the different types of investments and discusses trusted resources and strategies to make the most of your investing.
The book also has a section on saving money, which made me chuckle, because it talks about burying cash in the back yard. I thought that had gone out of practice, but the writers of WiseBread.com wrote this book, and they still offer that as a valid way to save money.
There was also a great section on thoughtful and enjoyable gifts for under $5, which was by far my favorite part of the book. Great ideas such as homemade potato soup mix, oven mitts with candy for Christmas, and other inexpensive but useful gifts were listed there.
If you are looking for better ways to invest money, tips on how to save it and ways to make your dollar stretch farther, I highly recommend this book. If you have Amazon Prime, you can even borrow it for one month to read on your Kindle at no extra charge.
