Fortune Magazine does the counting, and the magazine announced late today that  Mexican telecom mogul Carlos Slim Helu  has a bigger money bag, rather more money bags than Bill Gates of the Microsoft money machine. But it was a close count by billionaire standards. Fortune Magazine estimated that Carlos Slim has $53.5 billion and Bill  Gates has $53 billion. $$-- Dollars! Warren Buffett of Berkshire Hathaway, with $47 billion in his money bags, came in third in the count.

Carlos Slim Helú , age 70,  is a Mexican engineer, businessman and philanthropist and a man with crazy wealth. He dominates the telecommunications industry in Mexico and in much of Latin America.
