Carlos Slim  of. Mexico is now the world's richest person. Who says so? Fortune Magazine.
It was the battle of the moneybags. Why? To see who has the biggest money bag? Fortune Magazine does the counting, and the magazine announced late today that  Mexican telecom mogul Carlos Slim Helu  has a bigger money bag, rather more money bags than Bill Gates of the Microsoft money machine. But it was a close count by billionaire standards. Fortune Magazine estimated that Carlos Slim has $53.5 billion and Bill  Gates has $53 billion. $$-- Dollars! Warren Buffett of Berkshire Hathaway, with $47 billion in his money bags, came in third in the count.

Carlos Slim Helú , age 70,  is a Mexican engineer, businessman and philanthropist and a man with crazy wealth. He dominates the telecommunications industry in Mexico and in much of Latin America.
